I am not here to dramatise but simplify make you understand that how your kid teaches you and not you, as we all assume and think.
Little Teacher in your Home
They don’t have any fear in the morning , hold no grudges past bedtime. They cry, then laugh, then forget. They hug without reason. They notice ants, flies, when you’re too busy in your own world , they like to be with Nature where ever there is space. When you are tensed, the gentle tugs relax and sooths you but AMMA, sit with me, let’s play , anger gone.Somehow, that tiny voice cuts through everything. No lecture..no anger, just a simple need.
Home is their School
Your child don’t have negative ..only positive thoughts which is given abundantly by the Nature, to me, its GOD. They cry, then laugh, then forget. They hug without reason. No ego, no grudges before sunrise or after sunset. They live fully in the present like God , that is why, we trust and still. The time you get up is their punctuality to school when they join. The prayers you do is their first lesson , next what you eat adjusting with your kids preferences and sharing of food, is what compromise with other school kids they make when in school later.
Way of Living
Not the least, dress code we display is another lesson, when Kids meet outside their comfort zone of home is a treat to watch, natural, no shows, simple gestures .. lasting bond. No ego no thing but creates magic between families. Tiny moments when they say sorry without being forced, with no pride at all ; picking up a fallen flower and hand it to their grandmother — they’re teaching every adult in the room to slow down and see the beauty in small things. On to grandfather’s lap and just sit quietly — they’re teaching that sometimes, presence is enough. You don’t need to fix anything. You just need to be there. These are not small gestures. These are the fundamentals of a good and happy family living.
Child is Guide
The simple walk after rain stops ,looking at pool of stagnant water, isa treat to watch. immemorable… look at the pace they walk, remember it when you rush due to paucity of time, stress. The pace your kid walked that day, will bring memories to you , naturally at the spur of the moment, make you slow down, let’s you discover something extraordinary. Natural Instinct , God’s given When your child does something unexpectedly thoughtful, where you are not readily able to do it, they resolve with much ease, without any skill or knowledge. We had it being kid earlier, now after years , we are not close to Nature, ie, GOD , the instinct extinguished slowly.
Clarity
Indecision is hallmark of elders in general due to various factors and reasons which can be found fault or not but your child is not .. they have clarity to the core , a Nature’s complimentary, on any thing which they have competence. Best and simple example is, affecting every family, what food we should prepare today , answer will pop up from the child instantly, such answers will often surprise you with their clarity. When there’s a small disagreement between siblings or cousins, step back for a moment, leave stubbornness. Kids often arrive at fairness faster and with less ego than adults when there is disagreement.
What they remind us to go back to
The basics your child carries within them are the same ones families sometimes lose over years of daily schedule and stress:
- Honesty — they tell you the truth without dressing it up
- Presence — they want you, not a distracted version of you
- Forgiveness — they don’t carry yesterday’s argument into today
- Wonder — they find magic in the ordinary, which is where all real joy lives
- Affection — they reach for your hand, your lap, your eyes
These are not childish things. These are the things every family needs to survive and thrive together.
What every family should take care of and do
Your child is not a project to be completed.
Your child is not a project to be completed. They are a reminder — gentle, persistent, compassionate — of how to live together with grace. The next time your little one pulls you away from something “important,” consider that maybe they are the important thing. Maybe they’re showing the whole family something that everyone else forgot. Let them lead ,sometimes. You might be surprised where they take you.
“In the eyes of a child, you will see the world as it should be.”
