Being one of the six abodes of Lord Muruga, Tiruttani temple is simple, pure and peace loving, you need not be a devotee, honestly pray , you will feel, experience it. One request, don’t visit the temple if you just want to tick and satisfy yourself that I have been to that temple. It is not so, even if you are there for few minutes, true faith to replace the “tick ” mark, that is.., on the way to some other visits or pilgrimage or nature tour.

It is centrally located almost between Chennai, Tamilnadu and Renigunta, Andhra Pradesh, reachable very easily by train , cab and bus, in the order of priority. From Tiruttani railway station which is now having lift facility is the easiest , if you want to stay , on the way book a stay , THIRUTHANIGAI ILLAMS, officially run by the temple administration with utmost safety, has AC rooms also. Or else, if you prefer directly have visit temple and also darshan , hire an auto , take a temple bus with restricted timings or third preference, hire a cab. The distance is roughly below 3 kms. To be precise, the hotels are more costlier competing with metropolitan city , so , if you can afford, no issues, take note of this.

Its a very small area , walkable even for senior citizen 65 plus, of course there is senior citizen facilities in the office ,opposite to the entrance of paid entrance counter. As far as possible , avoid vendors on the way to the temple queue to have darshan, right from the place of alighting. There is a shoe/chappal stand on the left side of the main portico . Officical temple prashad counter is on the right side of the main darshan entry points. There is an Assistance booth, very close to it. Free lunch is available for devotees , very close to this prasad counter.

Depending upon the day you visit, as all we know, Tuesdays are holiest apart from other auspicious days related to the Lord. If you like to have good darshan avoiding heavy rush of devotees, mondays, wednesdays, fridays are advisable especially to those who are with young kids/children or those with senior citizens.

Purely its your devotion and faith which plays the ultimate, of course decided by the LORD. Avoid distraction, meditate on him in whatever way you feel or think it is comfortable, do it. Don’t worry about the procedures , what others are following or what other devotees have brought, rich or poor. Here with the Lord, who is cool and pleasant , will oblige if we are sincere to ourselves not to him and others. Kindly do not pretend, I hope you understand. Pray honestly and sincerely, leave it to the Lord, he knows what to do and when to do, for the good of you and your family. Trust is most important. When you are at the sanctom sanctorum, in front of it, the peak of your visit, my humble request, purely focus the Lord , the communication should be between you and the Lord , the HOLIEST TIME of your life, not focus on others … spend it worthful even if it is seconds. Before you come out , Lord Bhairava can be seen on the right side of the corner , you are allowed to stand and pray. Sit for a few minutes on the floor of the temple after coming out , to the right of the sanctom sanctorum. Here in this hall, to the right of it , you find Lord Vinayaga, where devotees converge after darshan.

If you are coming by cab, from Renigunta, kindly visit historical temples in Nagari, Surutupalli, Narayanavanam, worth worshipping. You also find just before Nagari town, Shiirdi Saibaba temple, the presiding deity almost similar to Samadhi Mandir, Shiirdi. These are all subject to your pilgrimage/tour programme.

temples in Kanchipuram, no needs explanation as it is well known, worth visting subject to your programme, saves time if you go by cab.

Lord Muruga blesses you
